Is this ad real? I think it is. I give lady the benefit of the doubt. I suspect that lady thought it'd be a good idea to take a picture of herself smiling in order to make the ad personable. She is, after all, a stranger offering to house sit, "to take care of anything and everything while your (sic) away."
However - and I admit that I might be way off on this - the a) graininess of the photo combined with the b) head-turned-sideways-smile and the c) hint of a missing tooth have ruined her ad's chances of success. There's just something eerie about how the photo combines so weirdly with her nice note.
Subconsciously, this is what the ad says to me:
"Need a creepy lady to steal all of your belongings while you try to relax during your winter vacation? Then I'm your gal!"
